Our mission is to support the educational outreach of the Monastery of Panagia Triherousa in the Diocese of Kisumu through structured sponsorship of needy students whose families cannot afford required school fees.

In rural Western Kenya, school attendance is contingent upon tuition payment. When families are unable to pay, children are sent home and often do not return. When a child is sent home for unpaid school fees, educational progress often ends permanently.

Funds will be used exclusively for school fees sponsorship of students and are paid directly to the institution. By paying fees directly to schools, this program ensures continued enrollment and educational stability.

For many, remaining in school provides safety, stability, and long-term opportunity.
As we have observed first hand, when a child stays in school, the entire household regains hope and dignity.

Particular attention is given to ensuring that girls are not disproportionately excluded from education during periods of hardship. Maintaining school attendance for young girls strengthens long-term community stability and reduces vulnerability to early marriage and exploitation.

Even modest assistance can mean the difference between hunger and nourishment, school attendance or withdrawal, and despair or hope.
The Monastery of Panagia Triherousa serves the local faithful, many beneficiaries have grown into contributing members of their community — strengthening not only their own families, but also actively supporting the Sisters in their evangelistic and humanitarian outreach.
One such example is a young man named Vasili.
When the Sisters first began their charitable work in the area, Vasili was an adolescent parishioner struggling academically despite sincere effort and dedication. Upon getting to know him, the Sisters recognized that his poor eyesight was preventing him from reaching his scholastic potential. Once they provided him with prescription eyeglasses, his academic performance improved dramatically.
Today, Vasili is a family man and works closely with the Monastery to improve the quality of life for his fellow Kenyans.
By supporting students in their formative years — helping them remain in school, grow in discipline, and remain connected to parish life — the Monastery is nurturing faithful Orthodox Christians who may one day serve as lay leaders, catechists, parish workers, or dedicated stewards of their communities.
